Laboratory
The
hospital has an on-site laboratory to serve the needs of in patients and
out patients. The laboratory operates round-the-clock and is able to perform
several tests in hematology, immuno-hematology clinical chemistry, serology,
microbiology, parasitology.
Some
non commonly done tests are also available on request like Fertility/Hormones, Tumour Markers, Thyroid Function, Microbiological Cultures with
Susceptibility Tests.
At
the laboratory is also available a service of cyto-hysto-pathology.
The staining of the cytological or hystological preparations is performed
on site while the reading is done by highly profiled specialists available
abroad and that can be reached through the
telemedicine.
A project for the prevention and the cure of the cervical cancer has been launched recently. A PAP smear is collected in every woman above 40 for screening and preventing that malignant cancer so widespread in our region.
