Mtendere Hospital is a non profit making institution belonging to the Zambian Catholic Diocese of Monze. The hospital functions thank to contributions of the Catholic Diocese of Milano in Italy, the Sisters of Charity of St Capitanio and Gerosa (also called Sisters of the child Mary), the Governement of the Republic of Zambia and the donations from  International Organisations and Ngos.

Careful management of resources, fees paid by the patients, auto-financing activities and donations from private wellwishers cover part of the operating expenses and are essential to maintain a good level of services offered.
